Alternative Tax Day Activities

With Tax Day approaching this week, many people are stressing about getting those taxes done. We like to get ours done as soon as possible—usually in February—to prevent this from happening. That said, some people simply don’t have that luxury. If you can get your taxes done before the 15th this year, here are some fun alternative activities for you to do instead.
- Watch my favorite tax movie, Stranger Than Fiction. It’s a lovely, funny movie and you might fall in love with it. If you don’t you could at least go around shouting “Get Bent, Tax Man!” Another hilarious tax-y movie is Dinner for Schmucks.
- Pay a fun tax. You owe yourself some fun, so cash in! Go shopping (even if it’s just to look), hit the park, grab a sundae, or visit a friend just because.
- Plan out what you’ll do with your refund, if you have one. If you’re like me, it’s probably going to bills… But if you can plan a vacation, pledge part of your refund to charity, or do something else memorable with your money, go for it! If I could, I would definitely take my family traveling with our refund.
